How long have you been in the construction industry?

Started working at Grahams builders merchants when I was 14 at the weekends and school holidays. Have worked for several suppliers before starting work on site 21. Jack of all trades master of none until concentrated on masonry. This led to becoming a buyer for builder which led into a chance to train as a QS. I have been QSing ever since. Been involved in construction for 40+ years in one form or another

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Interacting with people and delivering the project. Its great to drive past various properties and think I was involved in that.

Career highlight or project that you are most proud of?    

 A 71 house estate in Padstow for local client from start to finish, my largest contract completion to date.

What is your passion outside of work?

Family time, sea fishing and gardening. I enjoy cycling and walking in this beautiful county
