How long have you been in the construction industry? 

20 Years. I started my career in construction when I joined Midas Construction as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor in 2006 

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy working as part of a team overcoming day to day challenges across the various schemes working towards delivering a quality final product for the client. I also enjoy showing my two children projects that I have been involved in as we drive around the South West.

Career highlight or project that you are most proud of.

I have worked on many varied projects throughout Cornwall and Devon but my most notable and proudest moment was delivering my first scheme as a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor. The scheme was 114 mixed tenure houses on the outskirts of Truro. Each property was delivered to a high spec and all achieved an EPC rating of B or better. This project had extensive complexities inherited from the planning stage that as a team we overcome resulting in the delivery of an award winning scheme.

What is your passion outside of work?

 I pride myself on being a family man, devoting my time outside of work to my wife and two beautiful daughters. We enjoy spending as much time outdoors trekking across the local moorland or enjoying time exploring the county's amazing beaches often incorporating a pub lunch.
